General information

The European Course on Toxicologic Pathology (EuroTOXPATH-2007) is organized by the D.E.S.V. in Veterinary Pathology in partnership with the Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP) and the French Society of Veterinary Pathology (S.F.A.P.V.).

The D.E.S.V. (Diplôme d'Etudes Spécialisées Vétérinaires) in Veterinary Pathology is the French post-graduate program in Veterinary Pathology. This program is co-organized by the Departments of Pathology of the four French National Veterinary Schools (Alfort, Lyon, Nantes and Toulouse). The D.E.S.V. in Veterinary Pathology is a non-profit organization.

This course is part of a series of three rotating courses dedicated to laboratory animal pathology: EuroGEMS (Embryology & Pathology of Genetically Engineered Mice), EuroPOLA (Spontaneous Pathology of Laboratory Animals) and EuroTOXPATH (Toxicologic Pathology). These 4.5 or 5-day courses are organized by the D.E.S.V. in Veterinary Pathology; the French residency and training in veterinary pathology. Each of these courses have been already organized at least once since 2002. EuroTOXPATH-2007 is the second edition of the European Course on Toxicologic Pathology that has been organized for the first time in 2004. Over the years, these courses have gained an excellent reputation for high-quality continuing education with a decidedly local flavor.

Goals of the course

EuroTOXPATH-2007 aims to bring up to date reviews on the tools, protocols and paradigms of toxicologic pathology. It aims to highlight issues and trends in safety assessment through important examples of major target organs and mechanisms of toxicity.
